PNSA CONVENTION
Bellevue, WA
May 20, 2005
NORDIC MINUTES
Members present T.J. Owen, Steve Devin, Dick Knowles, Ben Husaby, Scott Johnston, Valerie Karas
1. Old Business -
1.. Overall consensus- the effort was well-done. Kudos to all involved.
2.. Concern re: appropriate behavior and attitudes of athletes; discussion followed by suggestion that assigned coaching staff to each housing unit will be responsible for kids within that complex; otherwise emphasis will be made on the expected behavior reflecting the privilege of being part of that group.
3.. Financial question of reimbursement by Bend to Methow for van use;
ACTION verify if check was indeed received by Flash and taken care of.
4.. Inventory All PNSA equipment associated for the common use at JOs should be inventoried. At this time everything is being stored with MBSEF
5.. Review of JO Budget 2004 Budget Summary sheet of info distributed to everybody and discussed; Residual funds excess put into carry-over account for following year and managed by MBSEF with purpose that funds will be readily available. PNSA board made aware of this amount and concern expressed. General feeling is that T.J will have the Board decide how to manage that money and develop vehicle by which NCC can access funds in timely manner with independence to purchase items.
Choices:***
1. Leave it as is
2. Have it revert to PNSA and managed in separate Nordic account which makes it difficult to access; but Ben could still use MBSEF credit card and then be reimbursed.
3. Get Chuck Kenlan on board and have as co-signer
***Decision will be made on Sunday, May 21 meeting with Board and T. J. will update everyone
***Outcome: decision after PNSA board meeting.
The money will have to go into a separate account, administered by PNSA , but kept as a Nordic account
