PNSA NCC meeting

OLD BUSINESS

       Budget: discussion, ? PNSA allocation funding, 

                    motion to revise allocation of Anthony Lakes camp funds to Methow Camp.     unanimous approval

 

      Summer camp reports:

                  Trout Lake - Ben , relocated to east of Trout Lake for this year, ~35 athletes, 6 coaches , ability level of camp rising, can be a true training camp instead of introductory camp

                   Anthony Lakes - Ben  ,  continuation of training from Trout Lake, good numbers of athletes

                   Methow - Steve , small number of athletes(9) mix of various training - bike, biathlon, rollerski,

 

       Future Camps 2008

                 Need for three camps, one per month in summer to continue training levels.

                  Trout Lake - Ben, will move back to Trout Lake venue, Biggest issue will be transportation at site,

                  Bend on-snow - Ben, with the US ski team elswhere, it will be difficult to get grooming funds for a camp

                  Methow - Chris,  will host the August camp

                  Spokane - George,   looking to host June camp,  grant application in and locating housing sites, 70 +miles of 

paved trails for rollerskiing,

                  Money allocations will be for Methow and Trout Lake at present, wait to see on Spokane camp as they progress

Additional races

   Muffy proposed a NW HS championship to be run in conjunction with the Oregon State Championship Feb 23-24, Race distances to be determined.

 

TD training

   Discussion in regards to upcoming TD training in Bend, Oct 27

Steve Devin was going to ask Carlie for assurances that the training will count toward TD time.

 

    > Methow will have Dalton as a TD

 

> Leavenworth will sanction its'  JOQ.

 

Masters Series

    Report and discussion

    Kongsberger will look into continuing the series, linking to websites for more exposure, Pete  will head up

 

Kongsberger will need a set of bibs for JOQ, George will look into using SNSEF set

 

JO Logistics

    ~ 34 skiers and  6 coaches,     ~ cost $1260 from Oregon, $1087 from Seattle

                     rooming at Hostel with Kitchen facilities, very close to venue

                     flight from Seattle and Redmond , space booked , names attached to tickets two weeks before flights

                     leaving Friday, returning Sunday 1 week later

 

 More uniforms are needed, ~ cost $125   

 

The idea of  corporate sponsorship was discussed

 

JO Petition

   Discussion in regards to checklist for petitioning to compete at JO, some modifications were agreed upon to simplify and

better define petition process

 

New Business

     >Check for Flash ( Chris) reimbursement of flight to JO last year,  oversight- check will be issued forwith

         > Radio Batteries needed  - take out of equipment budget,    approval

     >Discussion of future JO locations - issues included financial considerations, large venue sites

         > Mt Spokane just completed negotiations to add 25 k+ of new trails ,  as well as removing the snowmobilers from the Nordic area. This will lead to more space for a stadium area as well as better race start sites.

         > TJ discussed her continuing on the PNSEF board to keep a nordic seat and viewpoint

     >Ben presented draft budget, $500 allocated for coaches travel from PNSA budget
