Overall at the Great Nordeen
The Great Nordeen Nordic Ski Race, sponsored by Desert Orthopedics on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006, was a great success. Over 240 participants raced 36k from Mt. Bachelor’s Sunrise Lodge down to the Wanoga Sno-Park. The men’s overall winner, Patrick Weaver, finished with a time of 1:36:52.6. The women’s overall winner, Suzanne King, finished in 1:51:37.0.
The Desert Orthopedics Great Nordeen is a fundraising event for the MBSEF Nordic department to support race-training programs and keep program costs down for MBSEF Masters, Junior and Youth skiers.

The Great Nordeen Nordic Ski Race honors Emil Nordeen, the decorated Central Oregon ski pioneer from the 1930s and 1940s.
