On Saturday, June 7th,
from 1pm-5pm,
the PNSA SCC (Pacific Northwest Ski
Association - Snowboard Competition Committee) will be holding a meeting at
the PNSA Annual Convention (see the Information, schedule and registration
link above for more details). The SCC is a working group of PNSA which
is concerned with assessing and encouraging “pipeline” snowboard
competitions in the Pacific Northwest region. We are interested in gathering
those individuals from the region who are like-mindedly passionate about
snowboarding and the establishment of a healthy competition scene in the
Northwest.
Some topics of discussion
will be: an officials training clinic, an IJC judges clinic, state of
currently functioning regional competitions, needs of NW SB athletes,
establishment of pipeline competitions for various underrepresented regions
in the NW, development of scholarship funds for SB athletes, development of
SB training programs in NW, etc., etc.
