RUSS READ, a long time supporter of ski racing, has died after a long battle with cancer.  He was a past President of PNSA, the original Executive Director of MBSEF and Chairman of the MBSEF Board for many years.  Services were held Tuesday, 11/22 in Bend, OR.  Ski racing has lost a true friend!  Our sincere condolences to his wife Jo Ann and to their daughters Melinda and Cynthia.

DAVE MAHRE DIES AT 77:  The former General Manager of White Pass suffered a heart attack and under went heart surgery in Tacoma. He died of complications five days later.  We offer our condolences to all the children Kathee, Christine, David Jr., Phil, Steve, Ruth, Paul, Roberta, and Jackie and to his 20 grandchildren who include current PNSA athletes Alex and Robbie Mahre.  A funeral Mass was held in Yakima 7/28 and a Celebration of his Life and a Mahre family reunion was held August 6 at the White Pass Ski Lodge.
